How the HolisticChem Weight Loss Program Works

Our program removes the barriers that make medical weight management difficult: long waits, crowded clinics, and one-size-fits-all advice. Everything can be completed online from anywhere in Australia.

Complete Pre-Screening

Fill in the online pre-screening checklist at holisticahealth.com.au. This takes around 5 minutes and helps our GPs prepare for your consultation.

GP Telehealth Consultation

A registered GP reviews your health history, current medications, and weight management goals. The GP assesses whether a medically supervised program is appropriate for you.

Personalised Treatment Plan

If eligible, your GP develops a personalised treatment plan. This may include prescription weight loss medications, lifestyle recommendations, and follow-up appointments.

Ongoing Support and Delivery

Your medications are dispensed through HolisticChem and delivered to your door via Australia Post Express. Our pharmacist team remains available for questions via phone or WhatsApp.

Wegovy

Semaglutide injection

Wegovy is a GLP-1 receptor agonist approved in Australia for chronic weight management in adults. It works by mimicking a natural hormone that regulates appetite, helping to reduce food intake as part of a supervised program including lifestyle changes.

Ozempic

Semaglutide injection

Contrave

Naltrexone and Bupropion

Contrave combines naltrexone and bupropion to target the brain pathways involved in appetite and food cravings. It is used as part of a comprehensive weight management program that includes reduced calorie intake and regular physical activity.

Eligibility

Who May Be Suitable for Medically Supervised Weight Loss

Eligibility for our weight management program is assessed individually by a registered GP. The following provides general guidance only. A consultation is required to determine your suitability.

Factors that may support eligibility

  • BMI of 30 or above, or BMI of 27 or above with a weight-related health condition
  • Previous attempts at weight loss through diet and lifestyle changes without lasting results
  • Weight-related health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or sleep apnoea
  • No contraindications to the medications being considered
  • Willingness to adopt lifestyle changes alongside treatment

Factors that may affect eligibility

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Certain thyroid conditions or personal or family history of thyroid cancer
  • History of pancreatitis
  • Certain mental health conditions or medications that may interact
  • Severe kidney or liver disease
  • Current use of medications that may interact with proposed treatments
